Santi brings us newcomer Chang Thai, which supposedly has the best Thai food in town, and Laura invites us to vote up Pancho Villas and Big Shotz Tavern.
I know what I'm voting for :) Do you?
As is usually the case here at tnbc.net, when we try to upgrade something it royally hits the fan. No exception here, as I had to pretty much reinstall the entire image gallery trying to make a minor fix. At least it's working now (fingers crossed and cold beer at hand ;)
I'll be restoring all the photos (yes, most of them were backed up - except for Derrick's latest additions from the DJ Party - sorry dude!) over the next couple days.
Meanwhile - start uploading more! A tutorial on creating your own albums and uploading images will be featured soon in the FAQ - stay tuned...

Lucky 32 was one of the first TNBC's I attended myself. Close to home and right around the corner from my most frequently visited store in town (the Tennis/ Snowboard shop), it featured a cozy atmosphere with friendly employees and decent food and beer. More importantly, it hosted several memorable TNBC's, including Mile's 32nd birthday surprise.
Why is it closing? "The reason is simple; fewer guests are dining here....Digging around, we learned that people still really like Lucky's, but there are a lot more options. So our neighbors are still dining here, just less often." - Dennis Quaid, owner.

Dear Guests and Staff Members of Lucky 32 on Stratford Road in Winston-Salem,
We have decided to close this wonderful restaurant.
For the past 11 years it has been our great pleasure to serve this neighborhood.
We will continue with our normal hours of service through close of business on Saturday, January 13th and then we will close.
The reason is simple; fewer guests are dining here. Digging around we learned that people still really like Luckys, but there are a lot more options, so our neighbors are still dining here, just less often. My bet is that a restaurant from a different category will come into this building. We considered putting in a different restaurant ourselves, but decided that our little company would be better served to focus on our hotel and restaurant under construction in Greensboro.
This certainly isn't a happy day, nor is it sad. With the shifting sands of supply and demand, healthy restaurant outfits open and close restaurants all of the time. Eleven years is a life span far beyond the norm.
As most of you know, we announced that we were considering our options a number of months ago. At that time, we explained to our staff that if we concluded that closing the restaurant was best, there would be bonuses for those who qualified. (FYI: Some people might choose to transfer to one of our other restaurants. This and the details of the bonuses are explained in a separate letter to our staff members.)
Thank you to those who have enjoyed dining with us and an extra special thank you to those who have been valuable members of this team.
Sincerely,
Dennis Quaintance

Were you a Lucky 32 fan? Are you sad it's closing? What was your favorite beer? Chime in and pay homage to one of TNBC's original establishments.
We welcome the Oriental Cafe to our list courtesy of Santi.

Dates appear to be off by one day - in other words, everything we do is happening in the future. To prevent people from doing something silly (like showing up to TNBC at 6:30am), I'm going to try and resolve this asap.
It appears that users votes may not have been resetting correctly last week (therefore you may not have been able to vote as much as you should have been able to). I'm looking into a more advanced voting system, particularly one where the votes display in sorted order. Unfortunately I have little time right now to devote to this. Next chance I get you'll see improvements.
We are having a TNBC logo contest. Everyone can enter! The winning entry will be used as the official TNBC logo on our new site. No graphic design skills required! But if you know someone that has them, they're allowed to enter as well :)
Simply log in to TNBC using your account, and reply to this posting with your entry. Before submitting click on "file attachments" and upload your submission. Good luck!
