Lucky 32 Closing?
Lucky 32 was one of the first TNBC's I attended myself. Close to home and right around the corner from my most frequently visited store in town (the Tennis/ Snowboard shop), it featured a cozy atmosphere with friendly employees and decent food and beer. More importantly, it hosted several memorable TNBC's, including Mile's 32nd birthday surprise.
Why is it closing? "The reason is simple; fewer guests are dining here....Digging around, we learned that people still really like Lucky's, but there are a lot more options. So our neighbors are still dining here, just less often." - Dennis Quaid, owner.

Letter from Lucky 32's to its Employees and Patrons
Dear Guests and Staff Members of Lucky 32 on Stratford Road in Winston-Salem,
We have decided to close this wonderful restaurant.
For the past 11 years it has been our great pleasure to serve this neighborhood.
We will continue with our normal hours of service through close of business on Saturday, January 13th and then we will close.
The reason is simple; fewer guests are dining here. Digging around we learned that people still really like Luckys, but there are a lot more options, so our neighbors are still dining here, just less often. My bet is that a restaurant from a different category will come into this building. We considered putting in a different restaurant ourselves, but decided that our little company would be better served to focus on our hotel and restaurant under construction in Greensboro.
This certainly isn't a happy day, nor is it sad. With the shifting sands of supply and demand, healthy restaurant outfits open and close restaurants all of the time. Eleven years is a life span far beyond the norm.
As most of you know, we announced that we were considering our options a number of months ago. At that time, we explained to our staff that if we concluded that closing the restaurant was best, there would be bonuses for those who qualified. (FYI: Some people might choose to transfer to one of our other restaurants. This and the details of the bonuses are explained in a separate letter to our staff members.)
Thank you to those who have enjoyed dining with us and an extra special thank you to those who have been valuable members of this team.
Sincerely,
Dennis Quaintance

Were you a Lucky 32 fan? Are you sad it's closing? What was your favorite beer? Chime in and pay homage to one of TNBC's original establishments.

Long Live Lucky's...
Long Live Lucky's... the drive to Greensboro will be worth it. And the Winston restaurant will be missed. TNBC at Lucky's this Thursday? Just a thought. EM in WS.
Yep, TNBC'ers voted for TNBC
Yep, TNBC'ers voted for TNBC to be at Lucky 32's tomorrow for the last time. Come out and share a cold one in reminiscence - if you've never been there with us, even better - a good time to get to know the group.
