Great Cheers-like atmosphere

Great Cheers-like atmosphere AND no problem with separate checks! Great atmosphere and while the food was not my favorite, the whole experience totally made up for it! Loved it and hope to go back again soon!

Wake up Finnegan

Very cool layout and atmo - I totally dig this place with one exception - a snail could have brought me my beer faster. That's okay though, they're new and hopefully they will smooth out the overfoamed head in the weeks and months to come.

Beer Boy (aka Alex)

Finnegan=Irish=Guinness

I dig any place that is Irish because they are guaranteed to have Guinness--and they even fry their fish in it.
It was great meeting you all, and I am looking forward to many more beer-drinking Thursday nights.

It was great meeting you too Joanna! Welcome to the club :)

New Finnegan's Review

Just had lunch there - I'm going to confirm that the atmosphere is still very cool, even during day. The service, however, was absolutely ridiculous - to the point where we were laughing in disbelief. A couple pointers for next time:

- when you order soup, ask for it warm
- if you don't want something on your sandwich, write it down (otherwise it will come back with it, then scraped off, and finally cold - at which point you're so hungry you don't care)

I know, this sounds harsh, and is based on one experience. Let's hope this is not an indicator of overall service as it's a good location and I still want to like the place. Wake up Finnigan! (and save the Guinness for your guests ;) )

New News on Finnegan's Wake

Good news - service has definitely improved at Finnegans and so have the food options! And now for the best news.... we were the first to experience their outdoor patio last night! Yep, they now have a very large outdoor patio for lots of summer evenings of pint drinkin' :)

One last thing - I just got this info on Parking for Finnegan's:
- Top half of Lot next to Finnigan’s Wake on right side by Miller’s Clothing
- On the Street
- “Parking for YMCA only” — there is no Y, so we can park there
- Multi-story parking deck on 6th St & Trade St

Happy St. Patty's Day to all!

The outdoor patio is the

The outdoor patio is the key, and food and service seem to have improved. There's additional "non-irish" items on the menu (pesto shrimp for example), and the french onion soup is tasty (literally comes with a grilled cheese sandwich on top).

They weren't planning on opening the patio the public until Saturday but he was cool enough to let us sit out there - it was awesome. A nice intro to summer following an 80 degree day. Feels weird today now that it's dropped back down to 40 and raining.

We Love Finnegans!!!

Happy 2008 to everyone! We love the restaurant for a number of reasons.

  1. We always get prompt and friendly service
  2. the food is yummy, especially the tomato soup and oysters
  3. there is decent parking, considering most in downtown
  4. the outside patio rocks...and they are pet friendly!!!!

It is my absolutely my favorite late lunch spot!!!! Sharon Y.
