Mario's Pizza is run by Mario Alessio and Tony Franzese. Of Italian birth, the two grew up in Brooklyn and were childhood friends. Their parents were factory workers, which led the two to grow up with a dedicated work ethic. Tony opened the first NC store in 1980, and they've been successfully making tasty pizzas ever since. Now up to 7 stores, each location uses the same recipes, and the pizza dough is made fresh daily, and hand stretched and topped. The main ingredients come straight from the Big Apple.

Hands down the tastiest pizza in Winston-Salem. Burke St Pizzeria offers New York style pizzas that are scrumptious. Our personal favorite is the chicken pesto.
Burke Street Pizza was founded in 2003, at the corner of First and Burke streets in the Historic West End neighborhood of Winston-Salem.
The restaurant is owned by Dave Hillman and Howard Kaye. Dave was born in the north and manages the restaurant, while Howard, the head Chef, traveled the nation learning his trade from the best pizza spinners.
The owners of Dudley’s on the Park, who also own Burke Street Pizza, decided to make a change in concept because they wanted to add Italian cuisine to the downtown restaurant scene.
My Cousin Vinny’s offers salads, sandwiches, appetizers, a large selection of traditional Italian dinners and of course their signature Burke Street Pizza, which will be available by the slice until 5 p.m. They are open for lunch and dinner Monday through Friday, Saturday dinner and Sunday brunch.
My Cousin Vinny’s has all ABC permits and will feature more than 20 draft beers on tap, as well as wine. In addition to street parking, parking is available weekdays after 5:30 p.m. and on weekends in the Spruce Street parking lot at the corner of Spruce and Holly streets. (Signs posted).
