Winston’s Eatery coming to the former Southbound Railroad Depot.
A new café will be coming to the south part of downtown this winter called Winston's Eatery located at 300 South Liberty Street at the former location of Opie’s Southbound Grille in the old Railroad Depot. It is the venture of Michael Johnson who will be general manager, co-owner and “food guy” along with co-owner/business partner, Chad Williams. The café will pay homage to the history of Winston-Salem, but will also celebrate the area's present and future by becoming a dynamic local culinary resource.
The plan is to have a menu of quick and impressive breakfast offerings including wraps, a few pastries and a full line of premium coffees and teas. The Eatery will also feature popular lunch items that have been staples of Johnson’s catering venture, Convenient Cuisine. There will also be a take-away dinner menu that will change each weekday evening. Winston Eatery will be available to rent for private parties, meetings and small events. Plus, it will offer customized dinner and hors d'oeuvres menus along with wine, beer and mixed drinks for those occasions. Located near the Children's Museum of Winston-Salem, the Eatery is also considering creating a kid-friendly menu. Winston’s Eatery will be open 7:30 am on the weekdays, lunch and at mid-to-late afternoon for pickup of take-away dinners. For more information call 624-6185 or visit http://www.winstonseatery.com
